Tanker Ton-Mile Demand: 2000-2014

After a sustained period of relatively constant tanker ton-mile demand growth from 2002-2010 (with the exception of the crisis-induced dip in 2009) total tanker demand peaked in 2010 at just over 11 trillion ton-miles.
In 2011, total demand declined, driven by slower growth in the clean tanker sectors and an overall decline in the dirty petroleum product sectors
Total demand in 2014 contracted by 1.7% from 2013 levels to 10.5 trillion ton-miles
